Hints

Hints, a NYC based rock band, was formed in 2005 after an impromptu performance by founders and long time friends Jason Birke (guitar) and Jon Freedberg (vocals, keyboard). The fateful performance sparked a wave of songwriting and collaboration. Jacob Benson (drums) soon joined to fill out the lineup and the band was off and running.

In 2007, Hints recorded and released their debut album, The First Move. The record featured hard driving songs like "Higher Ground" and "I Don't Know" interspersed with more introspective tracks like "Smoke & Mirrors" as well as the popular anthem "Foothills".

Hints released their much anticipated follow-up album, Confessions & Alibis, in late 2014. The record, produced by Carl Glanville (U2, Billy Joel) represented a large step forward in both songwriting and production. Singles like "Gave Me Sound" and "Undertow" demonstrate the strong pop underpinnings of the record, while the thundering "Alibis" connect the band with a rock lineage tracing back to Led Zeppelin. The epic "Ride Again" serves as both the emotional and sonic climax of the record.

Hints continue to be a vibrant band, writing and recording songs and playing energetic live shows in the New York area.
